PROTESTS IN NAIROBI

Kenyans took to the streets again to protest against abductions. This is after section of youth, who engaged in what is perceived as online criticism of President administration and have been going missing. In some of the videos, masked men would be seen forcing grabbing young men and dragging them forcefully into cars and driving off. Police have denied responsibility. In Nairobi, the protests took place around the Central Business District, where protesters who carried Kenyan flag engaged in running battles with the police. Since 25 June 2024, when Kenyans in Nairobi invaded Parliament buildings in protest against a new Finance Bill, Kenya has seen a transformation in governance activism. Young people continuously raise awareness and protest over the political leadership. President Ruto since then, has also created allies with opposition former leader Raila Odinga.
